Hardshell Duo-Pack - Cleaning & Waterproofing

The Nikwax Hardshell Duo-Pack provides a comprehensive solution for cleaning and waterproofing a variety of technical outerwear and gear. The kit includes two essential products: Nikwax Tech Wash and Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In.

Step 1: Preparation Begin by zipping up all zippers and emptying the pockets of the garments. Clean the detergent drawer to remove any residue, then place the items in the washing machine.

Step 2: Washing The garments must first be cleaned with Nikwax Tech Wash. Add the recommended amount of Tech Wash to the washing machine and wash according to the care label instructions. Do not use household detergents, as they can compromise the existing waterproofing treatment.

Step 3: Waterproofing Once the wash cycle with Tech Wash is complete, leave the items in the washing machine. Thoroughly shake the Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In and add it to the machine. Wash again, following the care label directions. It's important not to combine the Tech Wash and TX.Direct Wash-In in the same load.

Step 4: Drying Dry the items according to the care label, either in the dryer or by air drying.

Nikwax Tech Wash safely cleans technical synthetic outerwear without damaging the existing Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment. Household detergents can leave behind water-attracting residues that compromise the garment's performance.

Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In is a high-performance waterproofer designed to enhance the performance and revitalize the breathability of waterproof clothing, keeping the wearer warmer and drier.

The easy-to-use wash-in solutions clean effectively, restore water repellency, and revive breathability by removing water-attracting residues from the surface. Nikwax products are PFAS-free, water-based, non-persistent, and contain no optical brighteners or added scent, making them machine-wash safe.

The Nikwax Hardshell Duo-Pack is recommended for a wide range of outdoor brands, including rain & ski jackets, waterproof fabrics, technical clothing, synthetic sleeping bags, and gear from brands like GORE-TEX, Patagonia, The North Face, Columbia, Outdoor Research, Cotopaxi, and Arc'teryx.

Remember, all items must first be cleaned with Nikwax Tech Wash before waterproofing, as household detergents can leave behind water-attracting residues. One full cap of product is approximately 50ml.
